In shooting at a basket or sing to another player,
a player may take 1 and 99 steps in doing either
of <a two without committing a violation or a

The rule book says that a player may
not run with the ball, Running with the ball is taking
two steps. However, insstarting a dribble the rear
pivot foot must not leave the Floor before the ball
leaves the hand of the dribbler.

Mp, Oswald Tower, the editor of the
Rules Guide, is the man who makes all the interpretations
for the rules body. It happens that I am chairman of the
Research Committee of the National Basketball Rules

I do serve as cheirman of this Sth district rules body,
which comprises the states of Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri,
Okicshoma, Colorado, and the Dakotas,

The only objection to it that I have is that it uses too
gasoline for a car driven for transportation, I could be a
% more economical by driving a smaller car, but when you consider
loss of tradeein or the loss of resale, you figure that you can
the extra money for gasoline and be far ahead. It gives per
fect performance and rides just like a big Pullman coach. It is

a grand and glorious feeling. Although { am here I haven't been to Lawrence
as yet once, and I thought I would be able to make a trip over quite often.

I have a boy who hurt his wrist in a game this fall
and I was wondering if we could make an appointment
with you this Saturday to look at it and advise us
about his playing basketball.

The boy planns to play Ban Johnson baseball this
summer ( and he will really go good as a pitcher)
and he hs also an outstanding football and. bakket
ball player. He is more interested in making good

in baseball and is afraid he will hurt his wrist more
playing, basketball this winter. A doctor advised

him not to play but I sort of doubt that°it is
necessary for him to lay out of basketbail. I felt
you could. advise: us better than anyone else.

He is a senior and is really the outstanding athlete
in this league i.e all round athlete. He ‘planns

to go th’Kansas State. Another reason I would like

to have you look at his wrist and get acquainted with

My home is at Lawrence and I went to Baker University
and I would rather see him go to KU. but that will
have to be taken care of later. |
