I am enclosing herewith the appointment blank for
Dre Laurence E. Morehouse for a temporary appointment
in our Department of Physical Education. —

I have used the title of “Instructor”, but wo may
have to do a little bargaining with him. However, I
feel that we would be perfectly safe im appointing him
as “Assistant Professor", which would dignify his degree,
aud since this is a temporary appointment we would not
be obligated for the future. I am expecting to go to
Wichita next week and will talk with Ur. Morehouse at
that time. I have written him today, confirming my
telephone conversationwith him this morning, but in ny
letter I have not mentioned the title he will have.
