Dear Dr. Allen: The Union Building has proven a decided help to the University of Kansas. Under the temporary Operating Committee it has met expenses and paid for improvements so the building is finished, furnished and rooms and facilities are bocked ahead, and the budget with cash on hand is well handled. The temporary Operating Committee, the University and Alumni can be helped materially. ‘Some action by Directors is necessary. Therefore, a meeting of the B oard of Directors is hereby called to meet at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 22nd in the Pine Room of the Union. Luncheon will be served at 12:00 noon. The docket will be: l- A report on the history and status of the Union. 2- A propcesal for reorganization on a continuing and more useful and practical basis for the operation and future use and control of the Union. ( This proposal has been prepared by Henry Werner, Chairman, Union Operating Committee; Fred Ellsworth, Secy. of the Alumi Ass'‘n.; C.C.Stewart, Atty.; and will be presented to the Directors for their consideration. ) 3- The Board's action on this matter in the form of amendments to the present constitution and by-laws. 4- If Directors take action on 2 and 3, they should pass a Resolution asking the approval and cooperation of the Chancellor and Regents.
