The statements you made in your letter, so far as my end of it is concemed, are exactly right, and I admire your stand in this matter. There probably are a lot of people who think you should not have started the situation, but I see no reason to have rules which are not enforced. Through a good many years of association with you I heppen to know you do live by the rules and enforce them. I see no use in allowing Oklahoma or any other school to handle their ethics as they see fit without consideration for any one else. year} Congratulations on your winning team this I received great pleasure in the score at the Oklahoma game and hope you can do it to them again. But I do want to thank you for your gracious treatment of Ethel and her children the other night in Saint Louis. I have a letter from them and you may be sure they genuinely enjoyed the visit with you. As usual, I'm watching your schedule carefully. Apparently you have an excellent ball club again and they seem to be coming along mighty fast right now. You certainly gave Missouri a sound pveating last night. Was glad to see Charlie Black come through with such an amazing performance as it is evident he had some early troubles which he has, no doubt, over- come. Dear Myles: Answering your inquiry of the ®th instant r the Charlie Blacks of K.U., I em happy to tell you that Charlie Black of 1921-22-23 fame was from Alton, Tllinois. It is he whom we designate the greatest living Kansas athlete. Charles 3. Black of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of fopeka, and Southwest High of Kansas City, is the 6 ft. 4 in. all-round athlete. I made this statement regarding Charlie Black of Lawrence, the present athlete - that I thought he played one of the best defensive games that I had seen. Then when he played against Missouri I said he played one of the finest offensive games that I had seen, and his fensive that night was outstanding. 2 did not say that Charles Black I ever onached in basketball, although that standard some nights.
