Dear "Doc:"

Just to give you an idea of how little is going on dow
im these parts, we have been arguing a little about the Charley
Blacks of K.U. The prees quoted you a month or so ago on the fact
that Charles Black “is the greatest living Kansas athlete," And not
long afterward the press quoted you as saying “charley Black is
the best big man I ever coached in basketball,”

Some of us who are turning gray--if not bald--think those
refer to two different players, the great Charley of the 19235 unde-’ |
feated basketball team and the great Charlev of your present outfit, wor
QED must be a marvelous player and also deserves nice things said

about him.
