Se Alien University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doc: Ever since returning from the meeting in Washington D.C. last Aucust I have talked, in all quarters, the need fon continuing the athletic program in our schools just as long as it igs possible to do so. If the program is to be curtailed, or completely eliminated it should be done only when it is impossible to go on. I have a feeling that there will be many boys in our schools next Fall and they will want to compete. Of course it will not be competition on the same level as in other years, but at that it should be interesting and very much worth while. I have heard rumors of a meeting of the directors and representatives the 2end. of May, either here in Kansas City or Lincoln, Nebraska. However, they are only rumors. If this meeting is held I have an idea something will be done about next year's schedules at that time. No doubt there is the feeling that there is no hurry about this since there would of necessity be many changes made. That has been true of the football schedule, and there are many months to go before that season opens. A the meeting of the basketball coaches last year, at the time of the schedule making I believe you made some remarks about me making out the schedule in the future, but I don't remember very much discussion about it at the time, and nothing has been said, from any source about that. Suppose you ar too busy to plav golf at this time. I have been out once, and did very well at that session. Hove we can play some this summer. Very cordially yours, /\ 2 R. E. Peters aX)
