DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS J. K R. c T M. - E. A. Eee . Ss. SANDS, VICE PRESIDENT BEALL HENDRICKS TURNER GAY February 27, 1943 Dr. F. C. Allen Athletic Department University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: Congratulations to you and the boys as Champioms of the Big Six Con- ference. Your winning of championships does seem like an old story, but it certainly is compensation to us Jayhawkers down here in Sooner territory after these disastrous football seasons. Nice going, Doc, it's really a great feeling to see you continually "whip Hell out of them", It has been quite some time since I have written so I'll bring you up to date on my activities. I am now the very proud father of a seven month old daughter. Also, I am now working in Bartlesville permanently. I have a very interesting job and one that I like very much in the Department of Economics. At present, I am deferred from the army, but am rather anxious to be called. I1 feel quite conspicious as a civilian and to be home while most of my friends are off fighting somewhere. We have a basketball team here at Phillips this year but we are not taking any extended road trips. They are not allowing basketball to interfere with our work in any way, and I am really happy about that. Give my best regards to Mrs. Allen and the family. Respectfully, FJP:LL studs A Pale
