Sylvan Dale Loveland, Colorado August 4, 1941 Dear Dr, Allen, Thank you for your letter in which you consented to lead a discussion group at the YM-YW Freshman Outing on September 20th. [I would like for you to take as your subject, "So You're on Your Own Now." Such a catch topic can include almost anything that you feel of value to freshmen in their first few weeks of becoming oriented to life away from home, The freshmen will leave by buses from the Union Building at ยง:00 a.m. to go to Brown's Grove for the day, These buses will return at 9:00 p.m. that evening. You are free to choose whether you wish to go with the buses or drive your own car. The two dis-~ cussion periods that you will be leading will come at approximately two and seven o'clock, If your schedule will permit you to fit into this program, I will wait and make final arrangements with you when I return to Lawrence, If such a schedulg is unsatisfactory, please let me know. I am very glad that you will be able to be with us on this outing again this fall, In the letter you wrote me, the Mr. was crossed out and Rev. written over it} I am sorry that I neglected to write "Jr," after my name - however, I believe that you did know what the Freshman Outing is since you have lead groups in it before. Just in case you did misunderstand the set-up, please let me know also. My position on the YM cabinet is that of Freshman Commission Chairman - hence my job of arranging the Freshman Outing. Best wishes for now and ever! Sincerely, td Friee (Ye-)
