Strait, the director of our physical education department, about some things connected with our schoolse In the course of that conversation he told me that he had been talking with you regarding the possibility of a vacancy which may occur 6n your staff and that if it did occur he would be inter- ested in applying for ite Because Mr. Strait has done such a fine piece of work for us and because I am interested in his advancement I am taking the liberty of writing to you regarding hime He came to us four years ago from Kinsley, Kansas, where he had been a successful high school teacher and coache He came here employed especially as coach of our Junior College athletics. It so happened that before school began that fall we had a vecancy in the directorship of our physical education and we trensferred him to that positione We have never regretted our choiceée Mre Streit is an all-round physical education mane He has coached athletics successfully. As director of our physical education program he has supervised physical education and playground work in our elementary schools, supervised the work of the Junior High School department and has supervised and taught in the Senior High Schoole This has given him & wide range of experiences He handles himself well both with little people of the grades and with boys of senior high school and jwmior col- legee He works quietly and effectively without much noise or fanfare. He is consistently improving his traininge He has his Master's Degree in physical education and is working during the summer toward his Doctor's degree in that same fielde He is above all a fine, courteous Christian gentlomane I do not at all relish the idea of losing any of the best men and women on our staff. However, I realize that these folk who are ambitious and who are doing good work should move on to better positions and I am happy to see them do soe If you do have a vacancy in your department I hope you will consider Mre Strait's qualities.
