CENTRAL COLLEGE FAYETTE, MISSOURI OFFICE OF THE DEAN March 11, 1942 Dr. Forrest ©. Allen Department of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kanseés Vy dear Phog: Your recent letter of inquiry relative to Arthur b. Adams of the College of Business Administration of the University of Oklahoma, has been received and duly neglected. The trouble with you is that you have a tendency to remember only those coaches whose teams managed by some miracle to defeat teams coached by you. As a matter of fact, Dr. Adams served in my place on the faculty of Central College while I was on leave of absence during the year, 1912-15. He coached the basketball team that year, and the Warrensburg team defeated the Central team 31-25 in the first game and 58-21 in the second game of the season. The scores would indicate that, as usual, your teams increased in efficiency as the season grew old, whereas the Central College team continued to score about the same number of points. After leaving Central, Adams carried on in graduate school, then began his long period of teaching in the University of Oklahoma and for some years now, he has been Dean of the College of Business Administration. Cling is improving satisfactorily and confidently expects to be in good condition by the end of the summer. His inactivi- ty coupled with his diet have caused him to grow out of my class in weight. At last account, he was tipping the scales at 180 pounds which is roughly about 35 pounds overweight. Whatever the occasion for a letter from you, I am always pleased to hear from you. The years of acquaintance and association with you have stored many fine memories. I noted with interest that you have to admit that you have twenty-five years of ser- vice at the University of Kansas to your credit. It is a fine thing that the old fellows embarrass you by expressions of praise and appreciation. May you continue to carry on with your fine influence through many years to come. Sincerely, Pay +e E.
