Dear Lyle,

I have your favor of the lst instent regarding officiating,
and I am happy to hear from yous. I am taking your letter to
Kansas. City with me tomorrow morning at which time our Big
Six basketball coaches meet in session with the Commissioner, —
Reaves Peters. Reaves is making the appointments for the con-
ference, but we, as coaches, list the officials in the order
of their efficiency as we see them.

I will be clad to recommend your name to the group and I am
hoping that we can use you next year. We coaches are arranging
our 1942-43 basketball schedule tomorrow. If Louis Menze and
Lenandowski, the two northern members will recommend you, I am
sure that I will put your name among the top ones and give you .

I know that you will be in Kansas City tomorrow, so I will look
you up and have you meet the other Big Six coaches with a view to
having you work some of our gamese We also play Creighton and

the Oklahoma Aggies, so if you work for any of the Missouri Valley
people, I will be glad to have you work one of our games with those
fellows. —
