Allen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doctor Allen: For the past ten or twelve years, the writer has been officiating high school basketball and high school football contest here in Iowa. He has succeeded in building up a very fine officiating schedule, working as many as ninety basketball games during the season and twenty to twenty-two football contests. He also officiated for some of the col- leges, members of the Iowa conferences and was one of the two officials working the State Junior College Basketball Tournament last spring. Since March 11, 1941, he was appointed Manager of the Iowa High School Athletic Association and given the responsibility of acting not only as Commissioner of Offficials for high schools in. Iowa, but also the regu- lar duties befalling Manager of the State High School Athletic Associ- fn ation. He has, therefore, deemed it advisable to refrain from officiat= ing any more high school contests and hence, he is quite anxious to be=- come established as an official in the Big Six and Missouri Valley, in addition to his work in the Iowa conference. I would certainly appreciate anything that you could do to help me or to tip me off as to what I could do in order to qualify for officiating in the Big Six Missouri Valley. While I have been forced to cancel all my high school games, I do have a nice schedule of Iowa College Conference games for this coming winter to officiate. I hope that I will look forward to seeing you at Kansas City. Yours very truly, Ce hacen! le fT. Quinn e Executive Secretary LTQ:HL
