I am sorry that things turned out the way
that they did in regard to your Rotary secretary's apartment,
but those things just can't be helped. We certainly appreciate
the trouble that you have taken in our behalf, especially since
we realize just how busy you are all of the time. Thanks a
lot; we are sort of grabbing at straws now in this housing
thing, so we haven't given up hope yet.

I am glad to hear that both of your boys
are at home now, and I wish that you would remember to say
"hello" to Mit for me.

~ I am sorry that I have been so long in giving you the
information for which you asked on Decoration Day. The next morning
I left town to attend a Rotary meeting and left instructions for my
' secretary to phone your office at Drexel 3715 as to the availability of
the apartment,

Somehow there +8 some misunderstanding and the word did
not get to youe The husband is a veteran and they are afraid that if
they sublease the apartment in some way, they may lose out, and so they
are just paying the rent for the summer and apparently are going to" leave
it vacant.

: I regret that I could not do a better job for you but
evidently this is the way it ise

Milton and Bob came in Lawrence yesterdays Milton was
released from Great Lakes and Bob'is frozen for quite sometime. However,
it was good to have both of them home together.

Congratulations on another all-victorious conference
basketball season. I'11 be watching closely to see how badly
the Jayhawks beat the Aggies in the District 5 play-off.

Sometime ago I had the misfortune of losing the gold
basketball I received as a member of the co-chempionship team
of 1937-38. It goes without saying this meant a great deal to
me end I would like to have it replaced. Would you please. let
me know the name of the jeweler in Lawrence that handles these
balls and I will contact them. |

 
 

I had hopes of seeing you in Denver last year when
you attended the AAU but slipped up et the lest minute.

In trying to cot the building in whieh you are located,

i had great difficulty. Your mother was not sure, then I
called the Alumni 7 and thoy gave me your address at :

the Kansas City Stars I seid, "Gosh, he's been out of that
for three years”, Then they searched around and gave me
the address of the Bryant Building. I said, "%o, “he ts gone
fron there", I kept quigsing them, but they had no building
listed. Then, I called Mrs. Allen and she said it was next
to John Taylor's, I imagine it's the Finance Building, . but
