Joel Hunt, Ex-Bible Pupil,
Gets Witte’s Job at Wyoming

Laramie, Wyo., March 29 (U.P)
—Joel Hunt, former University
of Georgia coach, was named
head football coach and chair-
man of the Wyoming university
athletic department Wednesday
night by the trustees.

Hunt, a student ‘of Dana
Bible’s at Texas A. and M., was
one of the greatest broken. field
runners ever produced: in the
Southwestern conference. He
succeeds Willard A. “Dutch”
Witte, whose resignation as ath-
eltic director will become effec-
tive June 1.

Together Hunt and Shelton
will take over the -job which
Witte held for the last two
years. Witte planned to enter
business with his father at Fre-

named assistant to Hunt.

Hunt:-accepted after Harry
Gamage, South Dakota coach,
rejected the offer. Gamage, for-
mer coach at Kentucky, said
“terms and conditions” were un-
satisfactory.
