The Navy League of the United States HE Navy League of the United States is an organization of civilians determined to keep war out of the United States. It recognizes that, in this world as it is, ade- quate armaments are necessary to secure peace- ful respect for American policies and interests, and it believes that, for our prosperity of today for the future of our country, for the maintenance of our rights and ideals in the world, and for the utmost prolongation of peace, our Navy should be second to none. The pioneer organization in the United States for national defense, the Navy League is non-partisan, non-political and was founded for the purpose of promoting a more general knowledge of the Navy by men who had expe- rienced the devastations of war and were firm in the belief that an adequate Navy was the surest, best and cheapest insurance of peace. The League has no connection with any business or political organization of any kind and is not pro-anything nor anti-anything, but is just plain American, and it insists that, whatever else the Congress may do or leave undone, it shall not fail in its duty, as pre- scribed by the Constitution of the United States, to provide such a Navy as will insure this country against the horrors of war in the homeland.
