I an mighty happy to hear from you as of the 50th instants \

The Coast is a great place for sports. My ‘Qaughter, Mary’ \,
Allen Hamilton, lives at Palo Alto and they take in all the sporting
events. I also have a brother who ws Gommandant at Stanford for \
several years. His name is Colonel H. B. Allen and he is retired
and living in Palo Alto. He was a timekeeper for alk the football
and basketball games and he was a coach of the polo team there at.
Stanford. So you see, the Allens have been up on the Coast sportinz
events pretty well, I just have a young grandson, Lee Hamilton, who
came yesterday morning from Palo Alto to attend Oread University High
School here. He is a senior and hopes to go from there to the univere
sity here berore he is called for the draft. oa.

I certainly would like to see your dad and mother and your
brother, Karl. Give them all my kindest regards. I hear from your
dad occasionally and always enjoy it. Karl Klooz always reads your
dad's letters at Rotary. Your dad and mom made a host of friends
when they were here at the university and avery eeny remembers them

in to Kansas basketball. We have won six and lost none,
while Oklahoma is second with four and one, I am sending you a
schedule of our remaining games, We play Nebraska here the 15th
instead of the 16th. The other dates are correct. We expect to
have @ bisa time at Norman, as well as our other Big Six conflicts,

; + We lost Gib Stramel, one of our star forwards, to the Navy this

semestere He is going to sea to qualify for his G, I, Bill of Rights.
Ray Evans is enrolling and will be a wonderful addition, but it takes
these boys a little time to get back into the collegiate physical con-
ditions It is just a little different from the Army and Navy condition-
ing, which naturally doesn't put athletics in the same important sphere
that collegiate athletics seems‘to inspire. —
