February 4, 1942 Mre Floyd Ae Rowe, Chairman National pasketbell Comittee Board of Education Cleveland, Ohio Dear Floyds I em writing to let you lnow that I am willing to be of any - service that I can to the Rules Comittee, but since George Edwards has been named from the Fifth District, I imagine that George will handle all detailss However, I had tentatively made arrangements with Robin MeGeorge, the Assistant Merger of the Kote] Continental for the Rules Body to stay theres It is the same hotel at which you stayed last year, and it is one of the newest and best in Kansas Citys | It may be that Georges desires to recommend the Hotel President Since that hotel is the headquarters for the Missouri teams when they Stop in Kansas Citys : | Regarding the tickets for the Rules Comittee, I om sure that George will make those arrangementse Harold Cleen wrote me and then called me asking me to still continue in my capacity as manager of the Tournsment, | even though 1 was not a member of the Rules Bodys Of course, I refused because it would be silly to consider such a request, | I want to thank you whole-heartedly for your genuine interest in doing what you dide I kuew that the thing was coming because four years ago the Missouri crowl attempted to railroad George in the position, but Artie Eilers of Washington University, Ste Louis, was there and he seying that he had a letter frow ell the Big-Six people aud all the Missouri Valley people, with the exception of Missouri, (they were for George Edwards) saying they preferred mee However, this was four years ago and I kmew it was in the cards because Chet Brewer was chairuan of the Nominating Committee this time and he made sure that things worked as they wanted.
