Dear Dr. Allen:

I am in receipt of your letter of April 22 en-
closing check covering my fee and expenses for acting in
the capacity of Alternate Official for the National Col-
legiate Athletic Association Basketball Championships
held in Kansas City March 30, for which I thank you very
much.

I also wish to take this opportunity to thank
you and the entire organization for the wonderful watch
which was forwarded to me. ‘This token of appreciation
as far as the writer is concerned means everything to him.

You will undoubtedly hear from Mr. E. C. Quigley
as I wired him under date of April 23 in regard to this
check not knowing whom I should contact in regard to same,
therefore, I followed through with the only course I knew.

I wish again to thank the National Collegiate
Athletic Association Basketball Championships Committee for
the privilege and opportunity of acting in the capacity of
alternate official under the above mentioned date.
