Franklin, New York City advising us to cancel seservation made for Colorado Basketball team as he had made reservations before he left Boulder and asking us to furnish you with this information. We have not had definite information as to how many teams are going to make reservations except that the University of Southern California wrote in last week and have reserved rooms for them. It so happens that during this week our hotel is booked to capacity by the Missouri Valley Electric Association convention, therefore, it is just as well with us that the Colorado team had made their reservations. I am sure they can get the same rate in fact this morning when I received your letter I talkej to the Phillips Hotel to see if they could take care of one of your teams, in case we would not have vacant rooms, they advised me they would be glad to at the same rate. I presume that this will be satisfactory and hope that it will not be necessary to send any of your teams else where, but I am simply protecting ourselves so they will have no trouble in getting accomodations, teo Fhe Phillips is only one block from the Hotel Continental and accomodations will be nice there, Dr, F. Basketball Tournament Robinson Gymnasium University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: Thanks very much for your letter of March 15th. We'll expect final details on your registration arrangements, whenever you hear from your national officers, There are at least two possibilities in arranging for a sight-seeing tour, If you can provide a sufficient number of cars, on a volunteer basis, and will give us some idea how much time you can devote to the trip, we'll be glad to mimeograph a suggested routing for the drivers. Would you want to allow an hour, hour and a half, or two hours for sight-seeing?! If there are any funds available for this purpose, we've found that bus transportation is decidedly the most satisfactory, Mr. C. A. Rennick of the Kansas City Public Service Company will arrange practically any routing you may desire, on an hourly basis, Thirty, passenger buses are available at $7.50 per hour running time and $2.00 per hour, standing time; or you can secure 37 passenger buses for $8.50 per hour running time. This includes the services of a guide. If no guides are wanted 30 passenger buses are available for $6.00 per hour and 37 passenger buses for $7.00 per hour, If you happen to get a little bad weather, volunteer transportation is not very satisfactory, we've found, However, just let us know what you decide. Allen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear “Phog": ” I received your letter this morning and appreciate your interest and I had the publicity department mail’ you the photograph you asked for and I will be at the meeting with all the enthusiasm I can gather up in this north country and we should have @ lot of interesting discussions and I am thoroughly convinced with the modern game and the type of boys who are plaving it in our section at least that the four foul rule has gone past its usefulness. After checking three tournaments, I found that 90% of the fouls were caused by determined bovs playing aggressive ball and why they should leave the game after plaving it as well as they can has never seemed right to me from the very beginning and I think you and I as coaches are very foolish to allow officials to determine who we shall have in the contest. That is, if you have as much trouble with officials as they do in most sections. I am sure the game will be cleaner and officials will work much better and not have that responsibility of disqualifying good players. I see by the paper where you defeated Oklahoma A & M on Saturday, which must have been a very enjoyable victory for you.
