Dear Doctors:

Perhaps you have been notified from some source that I
have been placed on the Basketball Rules Committee for the Eighth
District. Thus I am taking over the work that has been done the
last few years by John Bunn of Stanford. He has written to me
twice since my appointment was made and has given me quite an in-
sight into some of the details that I am expected to take care of.

He seems to feel that all work that he had in connection with
the Rules Committee and the final tournament must now be switched
to mee One of his statements was to the effect that I was desig=
nated to teke charge of officiating not only at the Pacific Coast
Conference play-off if one is necessary but also the final cham
pionship. At least that was the way I interpreted his letter.
Naturally, I do not feel that I would be in a position that would
at all qualify me to select men for the final games.

I would be very glad to receive a letter from you stating
your opinion of this or any other matter which may come to mind.
