I am glad to know you are finding a lot of interest in
connection with the National Collegiate Tournament. I am having
the same experience and it is my hope that everything will work
out in fine style this season.

By the way, I want to get out to all the committee men
at the earliest possible moment, the general instructions as to
the set-up for the conduct of the tournament this year and T hope
you will forward to me immediately any suggestions you have with
respect to such an announcement. There are a number of factors
involved:

le There was the recommendation which the Coaches Ase
sociation made as to the distribution of the income from the n.c.4.A.
Tournament. How closely should we follow this suggestion?

2. In the matter of the conduct of Play-offs within each
district, if any are held, what, in your judgment, is the basis
on which we should conduct those play-offs?

5S- When it comes to the Western play-off and the Eastern
play-off, last year we guaranteed expenses for fifteen men on each
competing team. Is it still your idea that a guarantee for a party
of twelve would be sufficient?

These are some of the questions that occur to me at the
present time and I hope I may get your suggestions as to what should
be included in this announcement to the selection committees in the
eight districts.

For your information, I am enclosing a copy of the announce}
ment which we sent to committee members last yoar.
