Dear Mr. Allens:

- |The assignment by the Goverment of
the Naval Aviation Unit has forced us to make
certain changes in our plans for a more intensive
program in physical education. We have always had
required or compulsory physical education, as well
as special classes for those who had a desire to
become physically fit and who wished to do this
work on an elective basis.

I am quite sure that if this Naval Unit
had not been assigned to our University, the
enclosed program would have been accepted by the
faculty for our own students. Now I am not sure
just what will take place here and must wait until
this Navel Unit becomes established.
