Dear Doc:

It is impossible to get officials ahead of time
and be sure that thev will be availabale at game time. Here
4s a sample of how it happens. For the Nebraska game at Ames
on Jan. 18th. I originally assigned Carroll and O'Sullivan.
Ted withdrew when he went into the service and I replaced him
with Oberhelamn. A week ago Carroll wrote that he would be
unable to make the trip. I got North to take his place. A few
days later a letter came from Oberhelman saying he could not
make the trip so I got “ess to take Mike's place.

Gibbs writes me that he can't get away from
the Mitt to work the double heater Jan.29-30. He could be
here foe saturday night games, but that would be too expen~
sive for just one night. Pullian and Lance are working in
Lincoln the night of Jan. 30th. and will het be available.
Have you any sugrestions.?
