Dear Dre Elbel:

I was quite surprised to read in the morning
Kansan a report to the effect that Mr. Raport had been
made assistant to you in handling intramuralse

At a conference between you and me last spring
I advised you of the fact that Dean Schwegler was anxious
that you put more time on your teaching and less emphasis
on intramuralse He considered you more valuable as a teachere

With that in mind I discussed with you, and I
thought it was definitely agreed that the new man who came in,
which proved to be Mr. DeGroot, was to assist youe On Mre
DeGroot's appointment he was named as your assistent in intra-
murals, and he has so been advisede

If there has been any change in your mind in this
regard I would be glad to be advisede
