I will be utterly frank concerning my reactions to the coming
Big Six basketball campaign this winter.

If we cannot win it, we would rathor that Louis Menze of Towa
State win it.

I notice some of the coaches know more about all the other teams
in the Big Six than their own. I am not worrying about the other
teams, I am worrying about my own.

Jack Gardner has a bunch of old age destroyers on his team. If
aging basketball players provide the key to success, he's got the
answer. One of his Varsity players this year was a freshman at
Kansas in 1957.

_A year ago I thought Kansas State would win the title this year
because Gorald Tucker, Winfield flash, enrolled at Manhattan. But
since he migrated to Oklahoma it would see logical now that Okla-
homa should win it. :

George Edwards will make sure that he is noticed in the Big Six
before the season is over. Herbie Gregg, the "scintillating ©

_ phantom" of his last years team will enroll the second semester
and somebody had better look outS As Je Lewandowski, Cornhusker,
made a big splurge last year at Nebraska and Nebraska followers are
expecting much from thé Cornhusker coach. .

I am going to spend my time worrying about my team and not the
opponents.
