Dear Mr. Abels,

Doctor Allen has not been in the office, so I am answering your
letter of the tenth instant.

It will be impossible for Doctor Allen to attend the committee
meeting Friday evening, Sept. 12 as he has en engagement in Kansas
City at that time with Dr. Don Carlos Peete.

I am sure you will heer from Deetor Allen personally about this
matter later, but I thought that you would like to know immediately
of his inability to be present.
