I want to congradulate you on your very excellent showing
that you made in the past two yeers on the athletic fields in
your high school. Your great acmirer and your friend and mine, Se
Don Keown, has written me repeatedly concerning your fine
athletic ability and your general all around wortiiness. He
is very anxious to sce you show your splendid tackles as a
nenber of Kansas Varsitites. Don could give the Rook Chalk
/much more dustly when you were one of the Jayhawker participants.

I want to also congradulate you in your great upset when
you spilled Anthony High School. ‘That certainly was an upset.
Den tells.me that you tackle like Ray Mvans and he said thet
he aay you play basketball last year and that he saw great
promises so I am extendin;, to you our congradulations and
hope that your successes will be even greaterthan they have
been and that is saying a lot. ee

I hope that you will get to come to the Kansas Relays
this year where you can have a chance to spend some tine 7
_on the campus and get better acquainted. During the morning
of the Relays we invite the high. sohool boys to come in and —
shoot goals in the gym. They have a lot of fun getting
agquainted with cach other and signing off with a good shower
_ bathe All this is done in time so that they pet down to ;
the relas and see great college stars in action, We hope . -
you will be one of then.
