October 10, 1944. President E. C. Pontius, University of Tulse, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dear President Pontius: i desire to thank you for yow generous hospitality extended by you and Mrs. Pontius to Mrs. Allen and me. You were very gracious, and although we could not enjoy the performance of our boys, which seriously was up to my expectations, by comparison ieft the enthusiasm for Kansas rather dwarfed for Kansas alumi; however, they did as well as I expected, and Coach Frnka's gentility and consideration for ow boys was greatly appreciated. I still think you are the best college foutbali president in the United States! And Henry Frnka rates way high in my estimation as a gentleman and a coach. Agntin 3 Cunte yen Ee Obie so much time from your is life to show the Allens your unexcelled hospitality of your school and your family. T em sending you a copy of the monthly Jayhawk Rebounds which I get out to our boys overseas. Doubtless some of your faculty are doing the same thing for the many heroic University of Tulsa boys. who are giving and giving end giving. With all good wishes and deep appreciation, I am Very sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education, FCA: AH Varsity Basketball Coach.
