COACHING STAFF

Sterrett, Jack - Varsity Coach. First season at University of
Wichita. Came here from University of Tulsa last spring. His Tulsa
squad was only team to defeat powerful Creighton University on its home
court last season. Also defeated Oklahoma A & M, Baylor, New Mex. Ag-
gies and Pittsburg, Kan. Teachers.e Is graduate of St. Thomas College i
Yinnesotae Coached Glencoe, Minne. High School to state championship i
1931. His Bemidjer Teachers College squad took a state title in 1955.
Yent from there back to the Alma Mater, St. Thomas and coached another
hampion team. From there to St. Louis University for seasons of 58=5¢

nd 39-40. Took graduate work at University of Iowa prior to St. Louis
assignment. Balieves in discipline within an athletic squad and also
stresses condition. In other fields, he was scout and psychological
advisor for the Chicago Cubs and is also rated as one of the best foot-
ball scouts in the nation. :

1938. Had marked succéss coaching high school teams in Kansas.
