My. Gewrence William Johnson, of Osage City, Kansas, who is
applying for V-7 classification. :

Jyheave known Lawrence Johnson for three years and know
him to be a fine, clean, aggressive and dependable young man.
Johnson played basketball, baseball and competed in track at
the Miller, Kansas, High School with outstanding success. He
entered the University of Kansas in 1940 and played on my
freshman basketball tean. 3

Johnson is a pre-medic at the present time and is doing
superior work in an academic way. He comes from a fine family.
His parents have always impressed upon him the necessity of hard
work and honesty. His father oame in to the University a number
of times and I was impressed with the rugged character of this

In my opinion he is officer candidate mterial. I am very glad
to recommend him to you as a clean, purposeful and intelligent
