You qualify for both and once again I solicit your favor in mailing to me a letter in triplicate addressed to Commandant, Third Naval District, 90 Church Street, New York, N. Y, At the time of the interview, I asked if it would not be possible to have the’ letters mailed direct to the Commandant but was advised that under the present hurry, the letter might not find the proper niche and that they were asking all applicants to submit these letters of recommendations with the applications and other matters requested, At the New York City K. U, luncheon last Tuesday, where Fred Hllsworth was the principal speaker, basketball was discussed and in agreement with all, is still the only profitable and successful sport at the University of Kansas. We all agreed that our football teams are: pretty bad and something apparently should be done about it. : I have been following your games all season and quite naturally, am pleased to see the victories rolling in, not only for the University but also in adding to your grand coaching record. ‘ Your courtesy and cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Best and kindest regards to you. Fraternally yours, QO, F, Nesmith ofn;rh
