Or | July 30, 1941 Mr. Albert E. Heas, Haas & Wilkerson Insurance, 912 Baltimore Avee, Kansas City, Mo. Dear Albert: I thank you for writing me and enclosing the letter from Ralph Dugan. It shows this - that Dugan although he had to struggle severely for an education he really attained one. Too few young men remember long the kindnesses that have been shown them by their oldsters. Your kindness to Dugan was appreciated and it is evidenced by this prompt letter of his to you. Dugan is a fine young man of sterling qualities and I know how deeply he appreciated the proffered help by yous I received a letter from Don Ettinger and he wes exuding enthusiasm for the coming football season as well as for his second year in the University. With your kindly cooperation and what help I can give him from time to time, with other associa~ tions that he will mke while in the University, I feel quite optimistic regarding his fine possibilities for the future. There is one young man without a job that I consider es fine as Ralph Dugan, and that is Remie Beims. I am sending you @ pamphlet that was put out by our Committee on Recommendations in the School of Education. Of course, in reality our Depart- ment of Physical Education put this out because we are boosting our own people, especially the worthy ones. You will be interested to know that Steve Meade, in this pamphlet, is returning to the University for one more year of the varsity football wars. He lacked one or two hours toward graduation but could have made it up this sumer for his teaching position. He is a 240=pounder end has two years experience so should help the line somewhere. I think Vie and Gwim are pretty happy since they lost Jacks and Relph. Now, back to Ramie Beims. His address is Atwood, Kansas. I am writing him today telling him of your kindness in offering your help end suggesting that he write you at once. With all good wishes, I am Sincerely yours, : ‘Director of Physical Miucation and Recreation FCA:AH Varsity Basketball Coach.
