COMMUNITY CENTER BUILDING ON WEST 11TH STREET, JUST OFF MASSACHUSETTS, LAWRENCE, KANSAS. PICTURES WILL BE RE- CEIVED BEGINNING OCTOBER 8TH THROUGH NOVEMBER 2ND. Mrs. Marie Cox in charge to assist you. COME IN AND SEE THE BOOKS MADE FOR OTHER COUNTIES. IT IS YOUR DUTY to see that the pictures and service records of every family member or relative is brought to the above place so that the Douglas County World War II Book will be complete. Please do not disappoint some man or woman in the service by not bringing in their picture. Your cooperation is needed. ACT NOW, every man and woman in uniform from this County will want their picture and record in this important publication. Help them by bringing in the pictures and tell your neighbors to bring their pictures. NO CHARGE will be made for placings picture and record in this book. You are not required to buy a book but, if you desire one or more copies the price is $3.50 plus tax, per copy. If you desire a book, make a $1.00 deposit and the remainder pay- able when books are delivered in approximately ten weeks. PICTURES: Any kind of photograph can be used if it is clear and not larger than 8x10. Pictures 3x5 or 5x7 are preferred. Take pictures out of frames before bringing them in and write name on back of picture. All pictures will be returned in good condition. SERVICE RECORD: Print or write plainly the information that you have on the opposite page. If parents are living say Mr. and Mrs.—if wife, give maiden name. Give the year and branch of service entered. Tell where he trained and where he has served. List medals or honors and if wounded or killed in action give date and place. Although you may not wish to order a copy please cooperate to make this Douglas County Biographical History complete.
