I had our Captain Pfitsch go over to the Union Building
and look for the books in hole eight, as you described to me.
The lady over there told him that sometimes when books are left
a long period of time that they pick them up and then they try , A
to locate the owner, She has promised Captain Pfitsch that she
will give him a report on her findings, but as yet it has not
' come ine “

I called Dr. Lawrence Woodruff, Registrar at the Univer-
sity of Kansas, regarding the refund. Dr. Woodruff stated that
Bob would have some refund coming. I asked him to handle the
matter so that you or he would get the refund, I havei't heard
any more and I hope that you have received the check, If not,
let me know and we will follow through in this regard.

I trust that you and Mr. Rice are over your colds and
that Bob is getting along nicely in his Navy assignment. Give
him my regards and best wishes.

I also checked on the amount that he had coming for
his work, I find that he worked just one hovr and then he
quit. It must have been that this was the situation that I
told you about when he did not show up for work any more, I
paid Mr. Gilbert Stramel the $10,00 and he was delighted to
get it, as he comes from a are weer home and this money meant
