\ April 7, 1943. My,' Harold Read, _ Coach, Shawnee~Mission High School, *Shameo-HMission, Kansas. Dear Harold: I have been intending to write you upon several occasions; first, upon your winning the district tourna- ment at Lawrence, then the regional at Topeka, and then upon winning the real McCoy at Salina. You certainly took it out on Kansas City, Kansas (Wyandotte), did you not? My, you are rough on those big city boys? You must have had a great team and I wish that you would extend my congratulations to one and all of your fine championship outfit. Ho, I an not trying to proselyte any of your fine players, but I just wanted you to know that I do appres- date what a difficult task it is for a fellow to take a bunch of high school boys and go through to such a splendid record as you have done. Again, congratulations! ‘With best wishes to you, I am Senciandiy yours, Director of Physical Education, PCA:AH Varsity Basketball Coach.
