upon the award you recently received being selected
No. 1 basketball coach for the nation.

Needless to say, I agree with that award
thoroughly. Mrs. Russell and I have been enthusiastic
basketball fans for a good many years and we have
always admired your policies not only so far as
it applies to the game itself, but to your boys as well.

Up until gasoline rationing went into effect,
we seldom missed a university game played in Lawrence.
In fact, during the tite our son, ©. ©., dr., has
been in the university we have not missed a game
until this year.

We also wish to congratulate you on your
fine season this year and trust you will be able

to complete your schedule without a single game
lost.
