Dear Mr. Allen:

Your letter of January 3lst received and in answer
to same I will tell you just what I said to Professor Richard Koopmen.
He was taking a body of engineers through our plant and stopped to
speak to me and I told him that my grand-daughter was very much
interested in the University of Kansas football team. I asked him
to see if he could get a little souvenigr Jayhawk so that she could

wear same on her coat.

Do you remember the good old days when you and I both
were much younger than we are now and when Company F in Independence
used to have their drills in the old Armory Hall, and the basketball
games that you used to take parti n?

I did not mean to have Dean Koopman bother you with
the souvenir, but as Jeanne, my grend-daughter, will soon be ready
for college I merely asked him to see if be could get the Jayhawk for
me.
