Dear Dr. Allen:

Knowing that on numerous occasions in the past, you have
sent well used basketballs to various individuals, I am
wondering if by any chance you have one that would be
serviceable enough for my four year old to use out of
doors.

If not, it is, naturally, entirely all right with me
but I thought possibly you might have one and those that
can be bought for a small amount here are not serviceable.

Mrs. Ralston and I are both looking forward to your
bringing your team here this winter. If there’is any-
thing you want or anything I can do in advance, please
be sure to call upon me.
