University of Missouri athletic officials kept abreast with the
erowing interest in Tiger athletics by celebrating the 10th anniver-~
sary of Brewer Field House with the installation of 3,100 new bleach~
ers for the Missouri-Nebraska basketball game....This increased the
seating capacity of the field house to 6,100 and only the ice and snow

n the highways kept the crowd from reaching this height .secxeeApproxi-
mately 5,000 were on hana on that occasion and stands will undoubtedly
be filled for the Missouri-Kansas meeting here Thursday night.

Reigning "peoples' choice" on the Tiger squad is none other than
diminutive Herbie GreggeeeesThe mighty atom of 5 feet 8 inches never
fails to bring the house down in tumultuous applause when he trots
on or off the flooreeeceelt's the Kansas City mite's fireball "give-
en-fits" style of play that accounts for his popularity as he “ball-
hawks" all over the floor and has a deadly left-handed hook shot that
brought him points in each of the seven non-conference tilts.

A few weeks ago Haskell Tison, 6 feet 7% inch pivotman of the
Bengals, startled local fans by warming up along the side of the court
before going into the fray......cays the stringbean Haskell: "I get
so darned excited the blood freezes in my toes and I have to shake it
loose 6"

Missouri track activities have been pretty much in a lull of late
as the installing of the new bleachers hindered opepersciens for sev-
eral days and now semester examinations are of more importance to
the cindermen than are workouts.

A total of 91 games were played last week in the opening six-day
span of intramural basketball at the Tiger school according to Direc-
tor of Intramural Athletics, Anton J. Stankowski.....2l1 contests were
played on Saturday, alone....e25 fraternities and 52 independent or-

ganizations contribute 75 teams to this year's schedule.
