NOTICE
TO THE CONSIGNEE:

Please carefully follow these suggestions; they are for your protection:

This shipment was carefully inspected and packed in containers of approved standards and
should reach you in full and in good condition.

Before accepting shipment from the transportation company, examine goods carefully and
if there is any shortage or anything broken or damaged insist that the transportation com-
pany’s delivery clerk make written note of the damage or shortage on the freight bill.

On opposite side of this slip the number and weight of each container, also style and number
of pairs of shoes in each container is given. Check each container separately as to weight
before opening, if a pair of track shoes is missing weight will be 144 pounds short; if a pair
of baseball, weight will be 2 pounds short; if a pair of football, weight will be 3 pounds short.

Concealed Damage

Shipments should be unpacked same day as received and if any damage not noticed at
freight house is then discovered, the freight agent should be notified at once and requested
to inspect goods. THIS 1S IMPORTANT as transportation companies will not pay conceal-
ed damage claims unless these conditions are complied with.

We, as shippers of the goods, will gladly prosecute for you any claim that you may have for
damage and shortage if you will present same to us in the form outlined above and immediately.
after you receive the goods.

The United States Supreme Court has decided that no Carrier need recognize a Loss or
Damage claim unless presented within six months from time of shipment.

Promptness is therefore a Prime Requisite
