Dear Dr. Allen:

I was very happy to have your letter of recent date about Bruce
and his history difficulties and 1 am feeling much better over the
Situation since hearing from you. 1 guess I was unduly concerned
but Bruce seemed worried and naturally it affected me the same way.

I certainly am glad to have your assurance that Bruce will make

the Varsity and I truly hope he makes a name for himself in basket
ball and I am sure that he will do the very best he can do under your
direction. He has a great admiration and respect for you and all
through High School expressed his determination to get up to Lawrence
so he could train under you.
