Dear "Phog"; | I regret that I have not been able to give ybu an earlier answer concern~ the matter of broadcasting the Kansas games but I was not able to get the desired infor= mation until just recently and had in mind dropping down and seeing you “in the flesh". As I told you,and I wish you would give my reason as not being able to arrange my schedule so as to do the work in a way that the job would demand, but the real reason is that I am under contract to W.1I.B.W. until April Ist I940 and they do not care to have me identified with any other station. They can hardly be blamed for this stand; it may be next year that I may be able to arrange to do this work and I hope you will be kind enough,if the opportunity presents it= gelf again,to keep me in mind. I expect to see several oF your games---at least the first half and will be nappy to give your games all the “oir space” that I can. By the way "Phog" where can I get the Basket Ball Rule Interpretations as deter- mined by the Big Six Basket Ball coaches in Kan- gas City? If you have a draft of them I will be gled to have them. Dear Phog,- It is with a great deal of regret that I have terminated my series of Sports Programs over Radio Station WIBW, which I have been carrying on four times weekly since the 17th of October. I am leaving for my summer's work with the National League. My office is 1909 R. C. A. Building, New York City. That I have enjoyed my work on the air this winter, has been in no small degree due to the many fine expressions of the acceptance of these programs by the fans who have written their approval, or criticisms or suggestions. They have been most helpful in sensing what the listeners like to hear discussed. Will you please accept the thanks of WIBW and myself for these expressions of good will. I am more than indebted to those of you who sent in questions on Sports which you wished dis- cussed. There have been far more than time permitted me to answer on the air. So if you did not receive a WIBW check for $1.00 for your question and it was not "sired", do not fesl that it was without merit. It may be that some of these questions can be answered next fall, if the program is continued at that time. I wish also to express my appreciation to those of you who answered "my question" each week. I am very sorry that the limited facilities make it impossible for us to provide accommodations for any of the wives at the camp. However, there are very comfortable hotels located in Boone and we will do our best to try and arrange some sort of entertainment for the ladies during their stay in Boone. I am writing to the other members of the faculty to ascertain whether or not it will be possible for their wives to come with them to the coaching school and in the event that they can, we will arrange accommodations for them in Boone and also some en- tertainment. I'll give you more information in regard to this at a little later date. Our registrations are coming in in very fine shape and I'm sure that We'll have a very large turnout for our school.
