Dear Dr. Allen,-

As I told you, I would write again when Ern
was recovered from his Flu attack. He has not had any
temperature for two days and only a fraction of a degree
the evening of the day before- no pain and seems to have
thrown off that set back. The Dr. has rot seen him for
several days- he was called out of town on account of the
death of his father, but do not think he would have ad
to seew Ern if he had been here. Ern sat up an hous
yesterday and twice to-day for two hours one time and
an hous and a helf another. Except for being very weak,
he seems and looks so much better.

Now at your convenience if you cared to
come up to treat him again, we would be very grate ful.
I think he would lixe to advise with you as to just how
much and how fast he should work that foot out. Of course
just as soon as he able, he could come to Lawrence for
anything you would care to do.

I can tell you again, how much we appreciate
what you have done, and if it is too much of a sacrifice
for you to get away, we would not want you to inconven-
ience yourself. When I called — that first time, I was
really scared.
