By Committee on Education (To Carry Out Proposal Noe 3 In Part) AN ACT relating to schools, providing for school transportation, and repealing sections 72-601 to 72-605, inclusive, 72-701, 72-702, 72=2517a, 72-3601 and 72- 3602 of the General Statutes of 1935, and sections 72-606 to 72-609, inclusive, 72-2517, 72-2517b, and 7282517c of the General Statutes Supplement of 1939. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas: Section 1. Legal rate for compensation, In all cases whatsoever wherein compensation is paid to the parents or guardian for transporting their children to elementary school, junior high school, or high school, the rate to be paid shall be 4ยข per mile by the usually traveled route for each mile actually and necessarily traveled in going to the school attended and in returning there- from to the home: Provided, That such compensation shall not be paid for more than one child in a family attending the same school, Sece 26 Common school district; own school.
