Garrison, Assistant to the Director AG? 1r UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS Lawrence Department of Physical Education October 6, 1938, Dear The Department of Physical Education is inaugurating a plan this fall whereby we will be happy to furnish play equipment free of charge for picnic parties to University organizations. The plan is for the Department of Physical Education to use a student major in this department to supervise the placing of the play equip- ment and to remain with it until the picnickers have finished. The student in our department will then gather up the equipment and re- turn it to the gymnasium. This play equipment will be transported to the picnic grounds without any expense to the group being servede This function of serving other departments in the University is peculiarly adapted to our department because we have this equipment available. If the heads of the University departments will notify us seven days in advance of the time, and indicate the equipment de- sired, we will be glad to serve them to the best of our ability. The equipment we have at present includes basketballs, volley balls , three groquet sets, badminton, horseshoes, softball bats and balls, deck tennis, quoits, and pingpong, At Brown's Gove we have erected basketball goals to add to the picnickers' enjoymonte Our telephone number is Ke.
