YANKTON COLLEGE YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA DEPARTMENT CF CHEMISTRY September 4, 1942 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Department of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Phog: No doubt by this time you have heard that I have been selected as Director of Athletics and Head Coach at Yankton College, Yankton, South Dakota. I feel very fortunate in having been chosen for this position. I wish to thank you at this tine again for the letter that you wrote to Dr. McCorison, the president of Yankton College, for I feel that it did much in helping them make their final selection. Yankton is a typical college town. It is a-little larger school than our Kansas Conference schools are, but a little smaller than the Central Conference schools. It has the usual college groups and organizations. We have a nice athletic program with good equipment. We have also a very effective intra-mural program which has been in force for the last few years. I have always had the desire to ask you for a personally autographed picture of yourself to hang in my office. I have always admired Dr. Naismith's picture that hung in your office because I knew that you were a great admirer of his. JI would like to have your picture hanging in my athletic office for the same reason. If there is any eXpense con- nected with such a favor I would gladly reimburse you for the same. If you are ever in the vicinity of Yankton I would consider it a privilege if you could drop in for a visit. Hoping this finds you and your family in the best of health and with kindest regards to them all, I am Very cordially y,ours, Was of glade. Mano W.
