Dear Doc:

I was delighted to have your letter of November 17
and appreciate your kind reference to the work we
are doing in southeastern Kansas.

George Nettels has brought to our attention the fact
that the Hammer brothers are looking for work in con-
nection with the Jayhawk Ordnance Works.(I believe you
should appreciate the name of this new undertaking)

The Hammer brothers have completely filled their appli-
cation blanks and have, to the best of my knowledge,
qualified. It is our plan to use them in the permanent
guard which will be quite an important part of our
permanent organization.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Kansas-Missouri
football game and thanking you for the splendid seats
we have had this year, I am, with best personal re-
