The newspapers here have just reported a blast that you
let off recently regarding commercialization of athletics,
particularly basketballe You'll probably get some nasty
letters in reply. There mst be hundreds like myself,
however, who applaud a man of your fame in sports daring
to criticise what many of us believe to be a situation
ruinous to college sport. Many of us are inarticulate and
say nothing. This note is probably classified as a “crank"
letter, but I've always thought that if some of us would
speak out a little plainer, we might save a bad conditione
