Dear Doctor:

"Kapp" and I should like to take this opportunity
to express our deep appreciation for your splendid
efforts.which made it possible for us to receive every
consideration for enlistment in the Naval Reserve.

As you perhaps know by this time, we were unfort-
unate in the color examination - I missed the green-gray
color charts which made it impossible for us to be given
any consideration. I was surprised because I passed the
vision test with a 20/20 rating and I had never tried
the color tests before.

I trust that you followed your plans to return to
Lawrence by train as I waited at the Recruiting office
until about four O'clock and called the Mumieipal Aud-
itorium. The girl in the Manager's Office stated that
you had been in Mr. Sachman's office but had left some
time prior to my call. Horace Mason volunteered this
information as he returned with me. I sincerely hops
that I did not cause you any inconvenience.

Again, thanking you for your help and wishing you
and the team the best of luck in winning those import-
