on the dey I was leaving New Orleans on an extended trip, and in my
haste to get away, your letter was overlooked. Although I understand
that Dy, Smith wrote you immediately and explained the entire matter to
you, I still wish to temler my apologies for not having answered you.

: On behalf of the New Orleans Mid-Winter Sports Association,
I wish to state that it was with the greatest regret that we were not able
to invite you to play in the annual Sugar Bowl] Geme this year.

It appears to m that Tulane is on the up grade in basket-

/pall,-and we are looking forward for the time to com in the very near

future when Tulane will merit an invitation and thus make it possible for
members of conferences, that have such a ruling as your conference, to be
able. to- accept our invitation.

You may rest assured that our Association has. the highest
Naa for, your team, as well as basketball in your entire section, and
it would give us extreme pleasure to have you participate in our game in
the very near future,
